Introduction to the Redi-Step

Let me just take a few minutes to introduce you to the Redi-Step and tell you how it came about.

The Redi-Step is a compact light weight alterative to all the things that we motor homers/campers and rv owners  haul around with us (or pick up in the camp ground/surrounding woods) to take up that long distance from the bottom step and the local terrain.

After we get our coach all leveled up step out the front door, look at the drop from the bottom step to the (sometimes quiet unleveled ) ground, comes the quest for something to fill that void!

Let me just take a minute to tell you how the Redi-Step was born. My wife and I have been camping/motorhomeing for many many years. Last spring we pulled into a beautiful camp site in a hilly part of the country over looking a lake. Set up our motor home with our door facing the lake. Placed my stool in that inevitable drop between the bottom step and the ground.

I guess everything would have been fine except for the fact we got a nice gentle rain that night. You know the kind; it lulls you to sleep pitter patting on the roof.

Bright and early the next morning I step out of the front door, cup of coffee in hand take a deep breath of fresh country air and………..

As my left foot touched the stool at the bottom that’s when my world exploded! The stool that I was so proud of the day I bought it shot straight down the hill. My feet and both arms went in the air and I landed on my butt/back in the mud.

Thirty minutes later setting on a park bench in front of my Rose Air, freshly showered, clean shorts on, a fresh cup of coffee in my hand, nothing hurt but my pride. Looking at my stool laying upside down and my butt print in the mud. I started to reflect on all the things I’ve used as a step over the years.

Various stools of course, (but not one I was so proud of as the one laying there upside down in the mud), buckets, concrete blocks, short pieces of rail road tie, rocks of various shapes and sizes, stacks of boards, logs. You name it I’ve used it. As I sat looking at my step I said to myself, there has to be a better way!

After a long period of trial and err the Redi-Step evolved. It’s very sturdy being constructed of Aluminum and stainless steel. Weighs in at only 8.5 lbs. Installs or stores in just seconds involves no special training, skills or tools. Being only 23” x 8” x 2” when stored takes up a minimum of your valuable storage compartment space.
